I am a bit skeptical about using a third party reseller although it seems like this is the only option if I want to use the student discount.
I was planning on getting the Producer edition for $200 as it fits my needs / budget best but the student edition seems to essentially be the Signature edition for $188.
If I got the student version from say Sweetwater would I still be fully eligible for posting on the forums, getting tech help, getting future updates, etc? I am guessing the answer is yes but I want to make sure I don't have to buy straight from FL to get these features. Especially as Image Line said they are going to focus on FL 13 after they release a stable version of FL for Mac and I wouldn't want to pay $188 for FL Studio 12 and then have to pay again for 13 like an idiot.
Honestly aside from Gross Beat (which I only use for 1/2 speed) and on the rare occasion Pitcher I don't use any of the VSTs in the signature edition which aren't in the producer edition so I'm thinking about just getting the Producer Edition. And I have been using FL several hours a day since Feburary and I have never used Hardcore, Directwave, FL Video (wtf even is that??), etc.
Also could I get a student discount on some of the synth VSTs? I have been thinking about Harmor / Sytrus if I could get them on sale. I already have Massive but I have seen some tutorial videos on both Harmor and Sytrus and they look pretty cool.
