Just beat Blaster Master Zero 2 after marathoning it for around 7 hours! For the record, that's a similar time to Zero 1, which took me around 5 hours to complete.

But man, this game improves on pretty much EVERYTHING from the first game.

Thought the bosses in Zero 1 were kinda iffy? Bosses are much better designed, more numerous, and there are much more bosses you fight in the tank than any other Blaster Master game.
Thought the combat balance was too heavily stacked in your favor? Overpowered weapons (like the final beam on foot) now have diminishing returns when you spam the attack (coupled with a joke ingame about how if there weren't any diminishing returns, it would be considered overpowered), and enemy design is improved to require more thought to destroy. And on that note, instead of just relying on just a few weapons like in Zero 1, in Zero 2 every weapon gets far more use and there are better reasons why you should use a lower-tiered weapon.
Thought Zero 1's level design as a whole was a bit dull? The level design also got a drastic boost. Taking more inspiration from games like Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia and Dust: An Elysian Tail, levels are segmented from each other with a world map instead of being an interconnected map. But it works in the game's favor to help cut down a lot of backtracking.
And let me tell you man, the ending sequence is really cool.

I really enjoyed this game from beginning to end, and it's only $10. If you liked the first game or like 2D action-adventures, you owe it to yourself to get this game.
